Pressing In to Your Child’s Faith – The Final Countdown

Your child may have just entered early education this year – the idea of graduation may seem incredibly far away. Or maybe your child is in the last semester of his senior year at VCS and you’re wondering, “How did we get here?”

I’m here to encourage you to press in to your child today.

Did you know there are roughly 936 weeks from when your child is born until they graduate high school at VCS? Our moments with them each day are precious and vital to who they will become and how they will impact the world. As Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Sending your child to VCS is positively changing the trajectory of your child’s life. By choosing a Christian education, their minds are planted with the seeds of a Christ-centered worldview. But remember: your time at home is just as important. Together with the church, school, and guidance from Christian parents, we can equip our children to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Pressing into your children now, in the moments that may seem insignificant, are the times that we affect them most. It’s the conversations on the way to school, when you’re in the drive-thru, or when you’re saying goodnight that build a deep connection. As a way to help you on this journey of parenthood from infant to graduation, I want to share with you the Parent Cue app. The Parent Cue app encourages parents to do something each week that moves their child toward a relationship with God and an influential future. The cues change as they grow older and the app shows you a countdown till their graduation from VCS. And if your child is graduating this year, never fear. It’s never too late to start having intentional conversations with your child, no matter their age. To download the app, visit their website here.
