Elementary School
At Vacaville Christian Elementary School, students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade build strong academic foundations in classrooms where they are known personally, encouraged to grow, and inspired to discover the unique gifts God has given them. Through engaging instruction, caring teachers, and a Christ-centered community, students develop confidence, character, and a lifelong love of learning.
A Strong Start for Every Student
The elementary years shape how children see themselves as learners, friends, and followers of Christ. At VCS, students are known personally and supported by teachers who combine high expectations with encouragement, creativity, and genuine care.
In our Christ-centered classrooms, children build strong academic foundations while growing in confidence, character, and faith. Through meaningful learning experiences and supportive relationships, they develop the curiosity, perseverance, and love of learning that prepare them to thrive throughout their lives.
Academic Excellence
At VCS, students develop strong foundational skills through purposeful instruction in classrooms where teachers know them well and encourage them to do their very best. Our teachers provide clear expectations, meaningful practice, and thoughtful guidance that help students master essential concepts while growing as capable and confident learners.
Students engage in a well-rounded academic program that includes Bible, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, along with opportunities to apply their learning through collaboration, creativity, technology, and hands-on experiences.
Strong Foundations
Building essential knowledge and skills for continued academic success.
Engaging Instruction
Creating meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity and critical thinking.
Growth and Confidence
Encouraging students to persevere, take responsibility, and grow as capable learners.
Faith at the Center
Faith is woven into every part of the VCS elementary experience. Through Bible instruction, prayer, worship, and daily classroom conversations, students learn to understand Scripture and apply Biblical truth to their choices, relationships, and responsibilities.
Our teachers model Christlike character while building meaningful relationships that help every child feel known, valued, and encouraged. As students deepen their understanding of God’s Word, they begin to recognize how their faith shapes who they are and how they can make a difference in the lives of others.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
A well-rounded education gives students opportunities to create, perform, move, explore, and discover new interests. In addition to their core academic subjects, VCS elementary students participate in art, vocal music, band, physical education, computer technology, library, and STEM Makerspace experiences.
These opportunities help students discover new interests, build lasting friendships, and develop creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and resilience while exploring their God-given talents beyond the traditional classroom.

Family Partnership
We believe children thrive when families and teachers work together. From your first campus tour to everyday classroom communication, volunteer opportunities, family events, and shared Christian values, VCS intentionally builds strong partnerships with parents. Together, we create a caring community where students are encouraged academically, nurtured spiritually, and supported as they grow into the person God created them to be.

Opportunities may vary by grade level and school year.
Missions and Service
Serving others is an important part of the VCS elementary experience. Throughout the year, students participate in age-appropriate service projects and schoolwide giving initiatives that support local organizations, families, and ministry partners.
Through these experiences, students learn to recognize the needs of others, practice generosity, and put their faith into action in meaningful ways.
Extracurricular Opportunities & Extended Care
Read up on the curriculum for each grade level, so you’ll know what to expect from the current school year.
We recognize that working parents have need of quality care for their children before and after school, and we are happy to provide for this need through our extended care program. The focus of our program is to give students an environment that encourages them to learn new things, meet new friends, and have fun “just being a kid.”
We’ve designed our school-age program (for grades K – 8) in such a way as to encourage students to use and expand the knowledge they obtain in school. Our trained and dedicated staff members are on hand to lead your children through homework, arts and crafts, group games, team building activities, and much more. We know your child works hard all day, so at the end of the day we want to make sure that active recreation is a part of the daily extended care experience.
Morning Extended Care: Extended Care hours are 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. VCS Food Services offers breakfast items for students to purchase from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m., during morning Extended Care. Students have an opportunity to participate in table games or small group activities and have a short recess break before starting their school day.
Kindergarten – 8th Grade After-School Extended Care: The K-8th Grade Extended Care program offers a balanced after-school program. Students enjoy a variety of activities as well as study hall time. Study Hall is a quiet time set aside for students to do their homework, review for tests, or read quietly. VCS Extended Care offers a variety of activities to enhance your child’s learning and social experience.
VCS offers clubs for Elementary, Middle and High School students. Developing a well-rounded child involves exposing a child to opportunities where they can learn more about themselves, their community, broadening their world-view, and participating in clubs that excel and highlight their strengths. We offer clubs of common interest and nationally recognized clubs that offer graduation honors.
Elementary School Clubs: Choir, Newspaper, Post Office, Student Government
VCS is a Christian school with a heart for missions and serving our local community. Each year, VCS students participate in mission-based projects. Middle School and High School students are required to serve in a volunteer capacity a minimum of 20 hours during the school year as a part of our missions program and bible classes.
During the month of November, VCS emphasizes the importance of giving back to our local community. From Early Education to High School, our students participate in canned food drives, collecting money, collecting clothing, personal hygiene items, and small toys to benefit Solano County food banks, the Storehouse, Mission Solano, Alpha Pregnancy, and other ministries.
VCS partners with The Leaven to provide tutoring for students outside of VCS in grade K – 8th.
