Middle school athletics help students build confidence, strengthen fundamental skills, and learn the value of teamwork and sportsmanship while preparing for high school competition. Whether students are trying a new sport or continuing to develop existing skills, students are encouraged to compete, grow, and develop a lifelong love of athletics.

What to Expect
Middle school athletics provide students with opportunities to build confidence, develop teamwork, and prepare for high school competition in a positive and encouraging environment.
- Commitment – Student-athletes are expected to attend practices and competitions. Coaches understand that occasional conflicts arise and work with families when flexibility is needed.
- Season Length – Most sports seasons last approximately 7–9 weeks.
- Practices – Teams typically practice 2–4 afternoons per week, Monday through Friday, with practices lasting 60–90 minutes.
- Games – Most teams compete 1–2 times per week, with some sports participating in end-of-season or weekend tournaments.
- Competition – VCS competes in the Northern Solano Athletic League (NSAL) against local public and private schools.
- Team Placement – When participation numbers allow, multiple teams may be formed to provide opportunities for both competitive and developmental athletes.
- Transportation – Families provide transportation through parent carpools to away contests.
- Athletic Fees – Sports fees are assessed after team rosters are finalized and the first competition has taken place. Fees typically range from $175–$200 per season
- Coaches – Our teams are led by dedicated faculty members and experienced community coaches who invest in the growth and development of our student-athletes.

Interested in cheer? Middle school students also have the opportunity to participate in VCJF Cheer, an independent program serving VCS students.
All middle school student-athletes must complete their athletic registration through FinalForms before participating in practices or competitions.
- Registration opens June 1 for the upcoming school year.
- Register before the first day of practice / tryouts to receive important team communications, practice information, and season updates.
- Sports physicals are not required for middle school athletics.
- Registration after the season has started is subject to roster availability and sport-specific deadlines.
Middle school athletics are strengthened by the support of our families. Parent volunteers help create a positive experience for our student-athletes throughout each season.

Most middle school home competitions are held on the Vacaville Christian School campus.

Visitor parking is available in the campus parking areas adjacent to the Middle School and near the football stadium. The Falcon Gymnasium, soccer field, and cross country course are all easily accessible from these parking areas.
