Elementary School Athletics
Elementary athletics provide students with opportunities to build confidence, develop teamwork, and discover the joy of competition in a fun and encouraging environment. Whether your child is trying a sport for the first time or continuing to develop their skills, our programs help every athlete develop new skills, build lasting friendships, and enjoy being part of a team.
What to Expect
- Season Length – Most elementary sports seasons last approximately 5–7 weeks.
- Practices – Teams typically practice 1–2 afternoons per week, with practices lasting 60–90 minutes.
- Games – Elementary athletics are primarily intramural, giving students the opportunity to compete in a fun, encouraging environment while developing their skills.
- Coaches – Our teams are led by dedicated faculty members and parent volunteer coaches who help students learn, grow, and enjoy the game.

WHAT SPORTS ARE OFFERED?
Elementary students have opportunities to participate in athletics throughout the school year, with programs designed for a variety of interests and experience levels.
Sports offerings may vary slightly from year to year based on student interest and coach availability.

VCJF Cheer (1st–5th Grade)
Interested in cheer? VCS families also have the opportunity to participate in VCJF Cheer, an independent program serving elementary students.
