The Palmer and Vizcay Families

We are Dana and April Palmer; parents of Alumnae Lacey, Lindsey, and Cassie Palmer. Also, grandparents of current students, Elena and Elyse Vizcay, and Julian Marquez.

How long have your children and grandchildren attended VCS?

Since 1985 for daughters Lacey, Lindsey, and Cassie. Currently our 3 grandchildren, Elena, Elyse and Julian have been attending VCS since each were in Kindergarten.

What do you love about VCS?

We love the faith-based education with caring teachers who seek to help and challenge your child in multiple areas: Academically, physically and spiritually. And in the loving and Christ-centered environment, our children and grandchildren have learned that there is responsibility and accountability for all actions and the rewards are great.

Why did your family choose VCS for your children and grandchildren?

For a more challenging education that supports a belief in God, smaller class sizes, and multiple extracurricular activities which enhance and support a child’s uniqueness.

In what ways have you seen your children, and now your grandchildren grow in their faith as a result of their experiences at VCS?

Because of biblical principles that are taught throughout the curriculum, each day brought opportunities to discuss how to lead a life of love, kindness and respect for God and others. I have truly seen Godly characteristics shine as my children, and now grandchildren grow in their faith and navigate their paths in life. From the foundation received at VCS, they all have a strong desire to serve others, in their home, in their community, and in their church.

What is the one word your family would use to describe the VCS experience?

Caring.

What would you tell other parents who are considering enrolling their children or grandchildren at VCS?

What can you give your child that lasts a lifetime? An educational experience that supports your beliefs and helps your child to
be the very best version of themselves.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when his is old, he will not depart form it.” Proverbs 22:6

Please share any additional details about your time at VCS.

A special thank you and appreciation for VCS front office staff: Love their smiling faces always, and helpfulness in all matters. And of long-time coaches, like Coach Mikelonis and Coach Jacobs, who were there for my children as well as now my grandchildren! They are living proof that in competitive sports we give God the glory for opportunities and any abilities given.
