For the Curtis family, choosing a school was about far more than academics. As parents raising three boys, Bryan and Cecelia Curtis wanted a place where their children could grow in both faith and learning while feeling truly known and supported.
“When we were looking at schools a few years ago, we knew we wanted a place where our children could build both a strong Christian foundation and a strong academic foundation,” Cecelia shared. “We found exactly that – and so much more – at VCS.”
Their oldest son began attending Vacaville Christian School in 2021, and today all three Curtis boys are part of the VCS community. Over the past four years, the family has watched each child grow academically, socially, spiritually, and personally through the opportunities and relationships they’ve experienced on campus.

The Curtis family especially values the balance of strong academics, Christ-centered education, and opportunities for students to discover their unique gifts. From elementary athletics like soccer, basketball, and t-ball to enrichment opportunities such as chess, Spanish, and cooking classes, their boys have found many ways to grow and thrive.
“Our boys love learning about Jesus, reading, math, fitness, music, and so much more — all on one campus,” Cecelia said.
As a military family, finding meaningful community was especially important. According to Cecelia, that sense of belonging has been one of the greatest blessings of their experience at VCS.
“Our children feel safe, known, encouraged, and loved, and as parents, we feel supported by the incredible faculty and fellow families.”
The impact of Christian education has extended far beyond the classroom. Cecelia shared that one of the greatest joys has been watching her sons develop a genuine and growing relationship with Jesus.
“It’s been such a joy to hear our boys talk about God and the Bible in various ways. I often hear them praying for loved ones, worshipping in their rooms, and doing their best to show kindness and stand up for what’s right.”
Recently, their two oldest boys made the decision to follow Jesus and were baptized together – a moment their family treasures deeply.
“My two oldest boys, who are now 8 and 6, have already made decisions to follow Jesus, and they got baptized together. Praise God!”
When asked what they would tell other parents considering VCS, Cecelia’s answer was simple:
“Do it.”
The Curtis family says they have never once doubted their decision to choose Vacaville Christian School and remain grateful for the partnership, encouragement, and Christ-centered foundation their children continue to experience every day.
