Lisa Sietsema

Elementary Computer Teacher

“It is so rewarding when students realize they can do complicated tasks on their own.”

For Lisa Sietsema, teaching at Vacaville Christian School is more than a role. It is a continuation of a journey that began years ago as a VCS parent.

Now in her third year as the Elementary Computer Teacher, Lisa brings both experience and heart to her classroom. Her connection to VCS runs deep. Her family has been part of the school community for 16 years, and her three sons have grown up on campus. One of her proudest moments includes her oldest son, Ryder, who graduated in 2025 and built the cross that now stands outside the high school.

Lisa was inspired to teach at VCS after experiencing the school through her children. What stood out most to her was the community.

“The community here, including families, staff, and administration, is so loving and supportive. When the opportunity came up, I knew it would be a great fit for me and for our family.”

In her classroom, Lisa creates a hands-on learning environment where students build confidence in their technical skills. Teaching computer class at the elementary level means constant movement, collaboration, and problem solving.

“I am often moving around the classroom, helping students troubleshoot and develop their skills. It is so rewarding to see students grow in confidence and independence.”

“I feel that God wants me here at VCS to daily encourage my students from the Bible and by teaching the examples of Christians through history. I want them to see that they too can be a follower of Jesus.”

Her passion is not just about teaching technology, but about helping students realize what they are capable of.

“My faith is guiding me daily in how I teach and support students.”

Lisa’s faith is central to the way she teaches and cares for her students. She sees her role as an opportunity to serve and to reflect Christ’s love in a practical way.

“I have always felt called to serve and love others. I try to show this love to my students in the way that I guide them in their lessons, showing Jesus’s love through me.”

Each day begins with intentional prayer and focus.

“I renew my mind daily by praying for my students and focusing on how I can support those who may have struggled in the past.”

Her guiding verse, Matthew 5:14-16, reflects her heart for teaching and her desire to be a light to those around her.

Lisa’s impact at VCS extends beyond the classroom. Over the years, she has served as a room mom ten times and continues to invest in the school community. Her family’s story is woven into the life of the school, and her commitment is both personal and lasting.

Outside of school, Lisa enjoys reading historical fiction, knitting, cooking, hiking, volunteering, and traveling with her family. She also participates in two book clubs and brings that same love of learning into her classroom.

With a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from California State University, Sacramento, and certification as an ACSI Educator, Lisa brings both knowledge and care to her role.

Through her teaching, her faith, and her daily interactions with students, Lisa is helping students grow in confidence, develop new skills, and discover what they are capable of.

We love that our children are quoting/memorizing Scripture, and realizing they can lean on God in the good times and bad. They are becoming prayer
