Martin Elliott is the kind of student-athlete who leaves a lasting mark on a program, a campus, and the people around him.

A senior at Vacaville Christian High School, Martin has distinguished himself as a leader in both basketball and volleyball. But his impact reaches far beyond the court.

When Martin arrived at VCS as a freshman after transitioning from homeschooling, he stepped into a completely new environment with confidence and purpose. Originally focused on baseball, he took a leap of faith when encouraged to try volleyball. He did not ease into it. That summer, he committed fully, showing up ready to work and determined to grow. That same mindset has defined his entire high school journey.

Martin leads with both skill and character. He is often the first to gather his teammates in prayer before games and the first to check in with his coaches, expressing genuine gratitude and care. His leadership is rooted in humility and service, consistently looking for ways to encourage and uplift others.

“Team Jesus. A prayer warrior. A life lived to give glory to God.”

He has also become a mentor to younger students, investing in them not only as athletes, but as individuals and as children of God. Martin models integrity in both big and small moments. Even as a freshman, he carried himself with maturity, once choosing to give up a point he knew he had not earned. That quiet integrity continues to define who he is today.

Coach Borges shared, “He inspires me to be a better person, coach, and believer.”

Martin has a natural ability to connect with others, often seeking out one-on-one conversations to offer encouragement, wisdom, and perspective beyond his years.

In the classroom, Martin has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school, reflecting the same discipline and commitment to excellence that he brings to athletics and leadership.

Above all, Martin’s life is rooted in his faith. He loves the Lord wholeheartedly and strives to reflect Christ in both his words and actions. On his senior night for volleyball, his board said it best. Team Jesus. A prayer warrior. A life lived to give glory to God.

After graduation, Martin plans to attend Solano Community College while continuing to serve in his church and community, where he is already involved in youth ministry leadership. He hopes to pursue a future in EMT and fire service, a calling that reflects his heart to serve, his readiness to act, and his steady, positive presence.

Martin Elliott is a remarkable young man whose legacy will continue long after his time at VCS. His faith, leadership, and compassion will carry forward into every life he touches.
