February 6, 2019: Technology – Teaching Our Children How to Navigate a Screen Obsessed World
Technology is a terrific tool, yet terrible master. Our children have never known a life without the internet, cell phones, commercial-free cartoons, and access to information at the touch of a screen. It’s clear that our world is digitally driven and that technology is here to stay, so how do we teach our children to set healthy boundaries and use it wisely? At VCS, technology is a distinct part of my vision for instruction. With our computer labs, iPads, SMART boards, growing robotics program, and learning management system, we have the ability to provide technological tools for our students that help them excel. Your child may have just entered early education this year – the idea of graduation may seem incredibly far away. January 18, 2019: Pro-Life: Why It’s Important and How to Share with Your Children
Today, thousands of people across the country will join the March for Life rally to take action and fight for the rights of the unborn. Because I support the conviction that life in the womb is worthy of protection, I am moved to share my heart with you. At VCS, our foundational mission is to provide an exceptional, Christ-centered education. With that overarching mission in mind, it is our responsibility to educate our children on what it means to be pro-life and why it matters. This isn’t just a political stance. And it’s more than just a religious view. My hope is to create meaningful conversation amongst our staff, parents, and students on what it means to embrace a biblical worldview, and why the support of pro-life is a critical expression of a Christ-centered perspective.
