Our Core Values

      • We ask “how”, not “if”   #dream (Matthew 19:26)
      • We teach the truth   #truth (Hebrews 4:12)
      • We always bring our best   #excellence (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
      • We lead by serving   #service (Luke 22:26)
      • We begin with the end in mind   #purpose (Acts 20:24)
      • We continually grow   #grow (Matthew 25:14-30)
      • We seek God’s presence   #prayer  (Matthew 21:22; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
      • We match words and actions   #integrity  (James 1:22)
      • We steward our resources wisely #stewardship  (Psalm 24:1)

#dream – Jesus tells us that “…through God, all things are possible.” We believe that God can do anything and we dream big.
#truth – The Bible tells us that “…the word of God is alive and active…it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit.” Our teaching is always centered in the truth of God’s word and we honor scriptural truth in all we do.
#excellence – God’s word tell us, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” At VCS, we honor God by giving our best in all we do, and we don’t settle for anything less than excellent.
#service – Jesus tell us, “…the greatest among you should be like…the one who serves.” A Falcon is recognizable to all by his service to others.
#purpose – The apostle Paul reminds us, “my only aim is to…complete the task…of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” When we do anything at VCS, we first remember and consider our ultimate, eternal purpose, and we act with intentionality.
#grow – In the Parable of the Talents, two of the servants used and developed their talents. To them, the master said, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.” At VCS, we are always learning and always growing, even beyond what we think we are capable of. We honor the Lord by fully developing the talents He has stewarded to us.
#prayer – Jesus tells us that “whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive,” and Paul exhorts us to “pray without ceasing.” We believe that God answers prayer and we continually come before his presence in good times, and in hard times.
#integrity – The apostle James tells us to “prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers.” The word integrity evolved from the Latin adjective integer, meaning “whole” or “complete”. Acting with integrity means honoring God’s commands no matter who is present, and it also means that we keep our promises.
#stewardship – The Psalmist tell us that “The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the Lord.” We have a responsibility to manage the resources God has provided to use effectively and efficiently.
