Dear Vacaville Christian Community,
Yesterday, I joined our team and community in celebrating our annual 8th grade promotion. The ceremony, hosted by Harvest Church, was a wonderful celebration. It solidified my pride in our students’ accomplishments despite COVID-19. It also underscored the commitment of every family in our school. Thank you for your dedication to VCS, through great times and difficult moments. I look forward to celebrating our seniors during their graduation ceremony later this evening.
As I’ve reflected on this school year, I’ve been reminded of the importance of continuity in education, especially in ideas. At VCS, you have a special opportunity as parents to partner with a school, from the earliest ages through 12th grade, who not only prepares students for excellence in college and career, but instills a lifelong, biblical, counter-cultural worldview. Consider some of the many truths we espouse as an educational institution:
- Our students are created divinely in the image of God with a unique purpose.
- The faith of our students is sustained through reason and supported by science and intellectual discovery.
- Truth is absolute and grounded in God’s Word.
- Parents are the primary educators of their children, and as a school, we have a responsibility to partner with parents in this important endeavor.
Next week, we’ll share more information about operating hours and communication this summer. As we close the school year, I thank you for your continued commitment to VCS and to Christian education.
