#4970 Daybreak Choir
Course Fee:This course is made up of a small vocal ensemble (10 to 18 singers) that perform extensively for church and community groups. Students receive advance training in vocal technique and music fundamentals in addition to rehearsing and performing music that covers a wide variety of styles.
The student must be a member of the Concert Choir to become a member of Daybreak.

Course Fee:This class is designed to explore digital photography. The course will begin with the overview of camera features and settings. Lighting, contracts and colors will be discussed to identify how to take great pictures. Photoshop elements will be used to edit, organize, enhance and share images. Course Fee:In Drama, we will learn how to use acting in all its many facets to clearly and effectively communicate the Gospel. Whether we are called to a ministry position in some area of the theatre or simply relating and ministering to those around us, God desires that we take advantage of every opportunity to demonstrate His love and goodness to others.
Our textbook, “The Stage and the School”, provides students with the tools needed to build key theater arts skills. Students receive instruction in classic training exercise, production techniques, and theater conventions. Skills are developed through lessons that help students draw on their personal experiences and build historical and cultural background knowledge; hands-on exercises that provide students with authentic practical experienced in casting, directing, and presenting plays; frequent application activities with options to meet any student ability and interest level.
This course can be taken at any high school grade level with teacher’s approval. The course will instruct and provide students practice in the skills of improvisation, mime, the practice of short scenes of plays, and the writing of short scenes. This course will provide an overview of general drama principles and theories. The primary focus is on acting.

Course Fee:French One is an introductory course designed to expose students to the basic French language and culture. Students learn verbs in the present and preterit tenses. Students learn approximately 50 new vocabulary words per unit, of which there are 12. The course also includes pronunciation, with the use of listening and speaking activities. Students present a speech as part of each final exam. Some of what the students learn includes: expressing emotions, likes, dislikes, need and necessity, ordering food and beverage, making appointments, choosing and purchasing items, telling the time, describing people, objects, and daily routines, and sequencing events. The objective is to teach students to assume an active role in their learning, in order for them to communicate at a basic level in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. As part of their final exams, students are required to present a speech to the class. This course is designed to give students confidence in their speaking ability. Homework includes memorization and written work, and is done on a daily basis, with approximately 30 to 60 minutes per day. The text used is C’est A Toi!, published by EMC Paradigm.

Co-Requisites: A grade of “B” or better in English 8 and teacher approval. Students must end each year in Spanish with a grade of “D” or better
