Course Fee:Students will learn to develop and maintain web sites in the industry standard Macromedia tools. Dreamweaver will be used to create and maintain web sites. Fireworks and Flash will be used to design graphics and animations that can be incorporated into the Dreamweaver sites. Students will work in teams to create web sites for local small business owners who don’t have a current web presence. Students will meet with owners to develop a plan and communicate regularly to provide a professional web site.

Course Fee:Windows applications will prepare students to use the computer as a tool to help them in personal, business, and educational use. The objective of this course is for students to master computer skills in the areas of word processing, spreadsheets, and multimedia. Students will complete projects that will teach them how to use the Microsoft Office 2003 suite of software, including professional documents and multimedia presentations. Students will use internet access to import graphics, video and audio clips into their work.

Course Fee:This class is designed for veteran journalists and editors. These students have primary responsibility for the publication of Flight, the student yearbook at VCHS. Students serve as editors for the Basic Journalism students who contribute to the yearbook. Students formulate a budget, keep track of revenue and expenses, solicit and design ads from the local business community. Additional use of InDesign and PhotoShop increases their familiarity with these industry-standard software programs.
Pre-Requisites: Basic Journalism is a pre-requisite for this class.
