Course Fee:With our teacher-to-student ratio at 1 to 4, the staff in the Infant/Toddler Center is able to provide the care necessary to promote optimal development for each child.
General objectives of the Infant/Toddler program include:
• Activities designed to challenge and enhance the child’s growth.
• Lessons on sign language, table manners, language development, and self-help skills.
• Opportunities for large motor skill development which includes crawling, walking, running, riding toys, etc.
• Fine motor development with the use of water play, sand play, gluing, pasting, painting, etc.
• Introduction to music, art expression, and Bible stories

Course Fee:In preschool at VCS, the Early Education teachers use a variety of ways to teach the children. Teachers use directional instructions to introduce the children to new concepts, they use guided practice to assist in learning new skills, and they use hands-on exploration during their daily center times. The preschool program provides a variety of learning activities including math manipulatives, field trips to explore our community, and daily enrichment activities.
Chapel times and Bible lessons provide a special time for stories needed for each child to growth spiritually.
General objectives of the Preschool program include:
• Bible curriculum with memory verse work and focus on Christian character traits such as love, honesty, respect and obedience.
• Learning about nature and the environment in Science.
• Recognition of names and sounds of our alphabet
• Recognizing, counting and using numbers
• Pre-writing, painting, artistic expression
Children in the 2’s and 3’s class will be evaluated and report cards are sent home twice a year. Children in young 4’s class have quarterly evaluations and Parent/Teacher Conferences are held in November.
We serve children ages 30 months to 4 years in our Preschool.

#1131 Early Kindergarten
Course Fee:In Early Kindergarten, the Early Education teachers use a variety of ways to teach the children. They use directional instructions to introduce the children to new concepts, they use guided practice to assist in learning new skills, and they encourage hands-on exploration during their daily center times.
The curriculum in Early Kindergarten is comparable to that of Kindergarten in the public school sector. VCS uses two curricula in particular - A Beka for math and language acquisition and Frontline Phonics for reading and comprehension. By using them concurrently, the Early Kindergarten staff at VCS has found that at least 90 % of the children are reading one vowel words before they enter Kindergarten.
General objectives of the Early Kindergarten program include:
• Making God, His Word and His Son a part of every daily experience.
• Creative loving environment
• Giving each child a good self-image
• Helping the child get along with others
• Development of good manners
• Language development
• Recognition of name, sound, picture of long and short vowels and consonants
• Sounding of blends and one vowel words
• Reading of sentences and stories with one vowel words.
• Formation of letters, blends, words and sentences

• Recognitions of last name
• Number sequencing
• Counting to 100
• Recognition of # 1-20
• Printing #’s 1-20
• Printing upper and lower case letters
• Simple addition
• Music, fingerplays
• Art activities and Science experiments
• ABC Memory Verses
Early Kindergarten report cards are sent home every quarter.
