The mission of Vacaville Christian Schools’ cheer program is to glorify God by following His guidance in transforming lives through servant leadership, academic excellence and accountability, developing spiritual growth, promoting school spirit and excellence in athletics. The standards are high and we demonstrate unparalleled excellence in all that we are involved in; every practice, rally, game, and competition.
As all the squads prepare for upcoming competitions, I am pleased to see how the quest for excellence has filtered through every squad, even our little Elementary Junior Cheer Athlethes. There are no easy answers, nor an instant recipe for success. Having the positive attitude and determination to make the most of every opportunity, and to create such opportunities, is the only way. Success is being the best you can be with what you have, where you are and making full use of the spiritual gifts God has given you, and enjoying what you do.
I encourage our teams to have confidence, for this gives them the freedom to perform without the fear of failure and without holding back. The look of determination on all the athletes faces as they try new stunts and routines, and the glow of accomplishment and spine tingling excitement when they nail a stunt is infectious.
Everyday I thank the Lord for placing me in such an honored position to ensure we will be the light shining for His glory.
