Why does VCS need a fundraising campaign?
As you are probably very aware, everything is just more expensive these days, and that certainly applies to operating and maintaining our school. That being said, today more than ever, we must engage in fundraising activities in order for us to continue providing the highest quality education for your children.

You see, there was a time when tuition covered the cost of a VCS education, but that is not true today. In fact, for the 2008-09 school year, tuition fell short by $600 per year per student in covering educational and related costs. Because we want to avoid raising tuition, which could make it financially impossible for some of our students to attend VCS, we must rely on financial gifts from the VCS family and community to supplement our income and enable us to operate the school.

How do I give to the Destiny Campaign?
There are several ways to give, all of which are very important and deeply appreciated.

If you want to give to the Destiny Campaign on a monthly basis, you can sign up for a recurring monthly donation online at Online Annual Giving.

You can also sign up for a Destiny program of monthly giving by contacting Monica Wilson, VCS Partnership Director at (707) 446-1776 extension 1060 or by email.

For one-time gifts, you can give online or send a check to VCS, Attn: Office of Advancement, 1117 Davis Street, Vacaville, CA 95687. You can also contact the Advancement Office at the number above if you would like to use your credit card to make a donation.

How will the money from the campaign be used?
As mentioned before, the funds are essentially used to support the operating budget of VCS. But, more specifically, the funds will be dedicated to:

• Continuing the development of state-of-the-art curricula and teaching practices.
• Sustaining our Financial Aid Program to ensure a high-quality Christian education is accessible to all deserving students who desire it;
• Attracting, retaining, supporting, and developing skilled, professional Christian educators;
• Enabling us to maintain and upgrade our campus facilities to ensure the best possible learning environment;
• Enhancing student offerings by funding extra-curricular programs.

Why count on The Destiny Campaign to cover the costs of the school? Why not just raise tuition?
True to our mission to serve varied economic backgrounds, VCS strives to keep tuition increases to a minimum in order to remain affordable to as many families as possible. Funds raised by the Destiny Campaign will help us accomplish this by closing the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating our students.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, gifts to The Destiny Campaign are 100% tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.
Can I designate how I want my donation used?
We would prefer a gift made to The Destiny Campaign be undesignated so funds can be used in an efficient manner to address the most pressing needs of the school.

Can anyone give to the VCS Destiny Campaign?
Yes, at vcsdestiny.com we have information for all members of the VCS community.

Are parents required to give to the Destiny Campaign?
No. We hope all gifts to VCS through this campaign will be gifts given from the heart in support of our mission.

How long will the Destiny Campaign go on?
The campaign is ongoing and for the foreseeable future will be the only fundraising campaign at VCS. As a donor, you are able to adjust your giving level at any time.

What are matching gifts?
A matching gift is typically the result of a business offering to match - or sometimes more - gifts made by their employees to certain non-profit organizations. Please check with your human resources department or the VCS Department of Advancement to see what businesses match gifts to VCS.
