2009-2010 LADY FALCONS VOLLEYBALL PREVIEW

After an outstanding 2008 volleyball season, the Lady Falcons are geared up to repeat last seasons' success. Coach Melissa Mulqueen who enters her third year at the helm of the varsity volleyball program, has already left an outstanding mark of success in guiding all of her teams to postseason play, including three consecutive league titles. Last year the team had an incredible record heading into the Sac-Joaquin Division 4 playoffs. The team was coming off of an undefeated league season and a mere one loss in the regular season. The Lady Falcons kept it going in the playoffs by making it to the semi-finals before losing the perennial powerhouse Christian Brothers. Christian Brothers went on to win the Section Title. The semi-final match marked the first time our volleyball team had gone that far.

Coach Mulqueen inherited a program at one point reeled off 110 consecutive league victories. Following the success of Steve Jacobs and Carla Borges, Coach has done an excellent job of incorporating her own style and vision for the program. This year she looks to improve on last years' success by scheduling an even tougher pre-season and entering the team into more elite tournaments. Look for the team to play some tough games this season and try to bring home their first Section Title.
