As always we are very excited about what this year holds for us at VCS. We count it a blessing to be able to be a part of each of your families as we navigate through the exciting and eventful middle school years. We are looking forward to spending another year watching our students grow academically, spiritually, and athletically. Most of all, we enjoy seeing the maturity, leadership qualities, and attention to our local and global mission fields take hold. If you are new to our middle school family, you are in for a truly wonderful year in an incredilby amazing school!
Vacaville Christian holds a dual accreditation from both the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The accreditation process reviews a schools condition as it relates to philosophy, the structure and organization of the school (admissions, school governance, finance, personnel, instructional program, resources, etc…). We are thrilled to hold the highest level of accreditation currently offered by both agencies.
Vacaville Christian Middle School is comprised of three grades, 6th through 8th. Our school feeds into Vacaville Christian High School, a college prep school of high distinction. Graduates of our high school are attending several of the best colleges and university in the U.S. This past year, in excess of 20% of our graduating class were named as AP scholars. As a feeder program to the high school the middle school offers a strong list of academic and elective courses including advanced math and English courses, seven different computer technology classes (Keyboarding/Microsoft Applications, Digital Photography, Flash Animation, iPad App Development – NEW*, Graphic Design / Advertising, Commercial Production 101 - NEW*, and Chapel Media Arts – NEW*), Intermediate and Advanced Instrumental Music, Chapel Leadership, Yearbook, French 1, Spanish 1, Algebra Plus, Pre-Algebra Plus, Math 6 Plus, and Run with Reading. French, Spanish, and Algebra 1 are all considered high school level courses. Upon successful completion, these courses will show on our students high school transcripts.
At the core of all we teach is an emphasis on a Biblical worldview. We focus on Christian values and character in classroom instruction, at weekly chapels, during Bible classes, and at annual spiritual retreats. We place a strong emphasis on serving our community and the world.
Our goal is to prepare students to excel in high school and college academically, spiritually, and physically. As a result of our high standards, out students regularly perform 2-4 years beyond grade level in national standard testing.
VCS students have the opportunity to experience success in areas outside of the classroom as well. These include playing on one of our 17 sports teams (football, cheerleading, cross country, basketball, soccer, track, and volleyball), participating in community service and missions projects, or getting involved in one the many clubs and activities, such as, DOTS (discipleship club), cooking, sci-fi, basketball, missions, etc…
This incredible program is enhanced even more by a state of the art computer and science labs, a media / technology station, a beautiful 3 year old sports complex, an extensive tutoring program in every core subject, a wonderful extended care program before and after school, and an on-line program for parents (PowerSchool), enabling parents to access current information on their child’s homework, class assignments, grades, and attendance.
