Applying to CSU

Applying to UC

Important info for seniors applying to UC and CSU
The deadline for submitting applications to UC and CSU is November 30. Because school officials take furloughs on Fridays, and Thanksgiving comes the last week of November, CSU and UC campuses advise students to submit applications as early as possible.
Twelve CSU campuses are impacted; therefore, in addition to applying to all CSU campuses of interest, apply to the CSU in your local area. For Solano County, the local area schools are Sonoma State and Sacramento State. Cal State East Bay is not impacted and will also accept all eligible students who apply.
In the past, UC referred eligible non-admits to UC Riverside and UC Merced. UC Riverside and possibly UC Merced will no longer accept referrals. If a student desires to attend a UC campus, as a safe option, apply to UC Merced and UC Riverside
Remember to take the SAT and/or ACT. Additionally, for UC eligibility take 2 subject SATs. It is best to take the exams by the November deadline.
Many schools no longer have high school visits and Preview Days (see list below). As an alternative, participate in CollegeWeekLive, a free online virtual college fair on October 1. Register online at www.collegeweeklive.com. Check campus websites for more info, updates, and registering for campus tours.
