Parenting Classes The principles of "Childwise and Growing Kids God’s Way" are designed to work on the inner attitudes of the heart. When you’ve captured the heart then the outward behavior will fall into place.
It is not enough to teach your child how to act morally; they must learn how to think morally. Wise parenting is better than Power parenting. Constantly reminding a child to do what is expected only means you have no expectations at all. After all, why should they take note of what is expected if you’re going to remind them anyway?
Childwise and Growing Kids have five goals which have not changed since the very first class was offered:
- To raise a generation of children to the glory of God, not man.
- To provide practical instruction that will help parents understand both the principles of Biblical training and their application.
- To instill confidence in each and every parent. This confidence is in God’s Word, which is sufficient both in truth and practice. With confidence comes competency in parenting.
- To help families look positively towards the teen years. Although the world teaches rebellion is normal, that is not what the Bible teaches.
- Parenting can be a tremendous experience. If God’s standards are maintained, the teen years can be among the best ones.
You will hear buzz words like "first time obedience", "preciousness of others", "the interrupt rule", "the appeal process". Come and join other parents dedicated to being the best parents they can be!
Classes begin: Monday, September 27, 2010 and runs for 5 consecutive Mondays. Monday, January 31, 2011 and runs for 6 consecutive Mondays. (No class Feb. 21, legal holiday)
